We have been sent an interesting photo of 5199 taken by Fred Kerr at Barry on the 15th November 1969. Two things are remarkable about this view:The comparative completeness of her at this date, 6 years into her stay at Barry. The visibility of the older Great Western lettering showing through the later British Railways livery.I guess that Barry scrapyard was only just beginning to become well known

5199 at the Vale of Glamorgan Railway

5199 made a return visit to Barry, and became the first ex-Barry steam locomotive to return to the site of Woodham's scrapyard in steam and running on the tracks alongside the yard where she spent more than 20 years before rescue and restoration.5199 was the guest locomotive for the Vale of Glamorgan Railway during the Barry Transport Festival.
